Athens’ Parthenon was considered in antiquity to be the supreme example of mathematical perfection in architecture. In this lecture Dr. William Neidinger examines the construction and decoration of the temple, its subsequent history as a Christian church, Moslem mosque, arsenal, and tourist attraction, its destruction by the Venetians, and the fate of its statuary.
Originally produced in 2004, re-released in 2015 with new photos and diagrams.
